I've posted a general support question in the direct forum, but perhaps you can verify something for me: My DSL is now supposed to be active, but my DSL modem (2700HG-B) isn't syncing. I have to do some more testing but in the meantime. My Cellpipe 7130 VDSL2 modem for Bell Fibe is still able to sync (but not provide internet access, presumably because my Fibe account is now expired). A VDSL2 modem shouldn't be able to sync to a regular DSL line right? Or is there support for fallback to old tech in this modem? A VDSL2 modem shouldn't be able to sync to a regular DSL line right? ![]() Or is there support for fallback to old tech in this modem? Your probably still on a VDSL2 profile, that modem provided by Bell is not backward compatible. Like you said, your 2wire does not sync. Which is just further proof. To think I was worried they'd take me off the remote when they switched me over. Not only did they not take me off the remote, they left my profile at ~ 27/8 Mbps. This is actually a slower profile than I initially had, until they pulled my line card in error several months ago. So the VDSL2 modems are not backward compatible. What about VDSL2 line cards? Not properly understanding the tech, I'm afraid that if they have to physically swap the line card, they may just end up putting me back on the CO (which in the past has been quite problematic for me in terms of speed). So, I'll keep this going as is as long as I can. Said by: The cards are multimode. So they are set to vdsl2 or adsl2+ in most cases.Yeah, but TekSavvy is supposed to be ADSL not ADSL2+. My 2wire 2700HG-B is supposed to be able to support ADSL2+, although I have no idea up to what speed profile. However, are these ADSL2+ modes on these line cards backward compatible? Otherwise wouldn't they just go ahead and swap that line card anyway to provide that TekSavvy ADSL service? Also, I just opened a letter I got today. It's asking me to return this Cellpipe to Bell within 2 weeks, so I just ordered a used one off eBhey. Hopefully I'll be able to keep this sekrit non-Bell VDSL2+ account going. I'm not a big bandwidth user, but 25 GB on reasonably priced Fibe is crazy low, esp. Since I plan on trying Netflix soon. Said by: Bell remote cards that can have fibe25 are adsl,adsl2+ and vdsl2 compatible. The only thing needed to be done is change the profile. The Cellpipe is not compatible with ADSL,ADSL2+ but other VDSL2 modem are, which Bell is working on. Someone from bell was nice to leave him with this profile. I woudn't complain. Thats just outstanding Well. There's a lot of reasons why he still has that profile, but it has absolutely nothing to do with being nice lol. Since he already had a DSL with Bell, I suspect this is a left in. So, one day, when someone gets assigned to his port. Well, you know the rest.
